Rather, the focus will be on the key issues raised by the Majority text proponents, and how well these have fared under the criticism they have received. One may begin with the fact that some 80% to 90% of known manuscripts represent the Majority text-type. Hort, nevertheless, and most critics since, have rejected this majority in favour of the so-called Alexandrian text-type. Hort had two reasons for doing this, one theoretical
